Mrs. W. H. McKinzie

Mrs. Maggie E. McKinzie was born in Polk county, Iowa, Sept. 15, 1872. She was married to W. H. (Frank) McKinzie at July 17, 1912 at Winterset, and they have made their home at Omaha since then. She is survived by her husband, two brothers, U. S. Woodward of Winterset and Willis Woodward of Des Moines, and one sister, Mrs. Ola Brainard of Des Moines. One sister, Mrs. High R. Shupe passed on before her, four years ago. She has been a member of the Baptist church here for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge and the United Spanish War Veterans Auxiliary. After a long period of intense suffering, the end came April 11th. She was a good Christian woman, a great reader of the Bible, one given to regular prayer; her faith in God afforded her daily strength for her trial of suffering. She was brave and patient in it all, and day after day she bore the most intense pain with a smile. She devoted herself with intense zeal to the service of God and the making of an ideal home. The body was brought to Winterset, from the home at Omaha, and funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by the pastor, Stanley A. Gillet, on Monday afternoon. The Rebekahs assisted in the service and the body was laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
