Obituary

Laura Bash Lemar was born in Walbash County, Ind. Sept. 14, 1878. When but seven years old her father died and at the age of fourteen years she moved with her mother to Iowa. The latter married Mr. Wm. Allen settling in Madison County.

On July 19, 1897 she was married to Frank S. Lemar to which union were born nine children, R. Ralph, Russell L., Fred R., LeRoy C., Mamie H., Denton I., Fern E., Floyd F. and Ruth D.

During all her busy life she never forgot others. Her friends were many. She has done what she could in her home life she was faithful to her Heavenly Father as well as her family. Death called her May 2, 1922 after illness of several weeks.

Besides her children she leaves a husband and two brothers, Earl Bash, Wichita, Kansas, Harvey Bash, Ava, Missouri, a sister Mrs. Clara Condo, Peru, Ind., three half sisters Mrs. Lena Johansen, Ryder, N. D. Miss Mary Allen, Little Falls, Minn. and Mrs. Martha Van Sickle, of Little Falls, Minn., all whom were present at the funeral at Earlham.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Earlham Friday, May 5, by Rev. Louis Watson, of Ankeny, an old friend of the deceased assisted by Rev. P. J. Allwell. Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.

Earlham

The funeral of Mrs. Frank Lemar, who died at her home in Des Moines, on last Tuesday, was held from the Methodist church Friday afternoon, Rev. Watson, a former pastor having charge of the service.

Mrs. Lemar was the mother of nine children, all of whom are living, the youngest only five weeks old and left with the husband to mourn her untimely death. Mr. and Mrs. Lemar were at one time residents of Earlham and lived near here for several years before moving to Des Moines, and have many friends here. The oldest son is in business here and one of the owners of what is known as the Cline garage.
