Death of John W. Peters

John W. Peters, who has been a resident of the Peru neighborhood for the past thirty-two years, died at his home south of Peru, Friday, April 15th at the age of 76 years.

Mr. Peters was the son of Michael and Elizabeth Peters and was born in Pike county, Ohio, May 25, 1855. While yet a boy he moved with is parents to Nebraska, where they settled on a homestead. Here he grew to young manhood and on November 9, 1882, he was married to Sarah Jane Bundy. To them was born twelve children, two of whom survive the father, Frank of Osceola and Sarah Alice of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He also leaves his wife and three sisters; Catherine Odemeyer, Lydia Bundy of California and Margaret Madison of Brush, Colorado.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 18th in the Peru community church conducted by the Rev. Edwin H. Sands and burial was in the Ebenezer cemetery.
