W. D. Patterson Loses Brother in Dakota

W. D. Patterson and son Bradley were called to Conata, South Dakota, by the death of Mr. Patterson's brother, Bradley Patterson. Mr. Patterson was burned two weeks ago by a gasoline explosion while working in his home at some cleaning. The house and contents were completely destroyed. Mr. Patterson was rushed to the hospital at Rapid City, where he was cared for until his death Friday. When a young man, he came to Iowa with his brother, W. D. Patterson and they had a farm in Lee township for several years. He had visited here a number of times and was here for six weeks at the time of Mrs. Patterson's death. His is the first death in his family with the exception of the parent.

FUNERAL
B. M. Patterson

Funeral services for B. M. Patterson, Conata, who died in a local hospital late last week of burns received in a fire at his home several weeks ago, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from Behrens’ mortuary, it was announced today. Services will be conducted by Rev. Oscar Donaldson, Rapid City, district Sunday school superintendent for the Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery.

Mr. Patterson, unmarried, lived alone near Conata. Early in February he was severely burned about the hands, face and back in a fire at his home. He was brought to a local hospital in a bad storm, the hard, rough trip aggravating his wounds.

A brother, W. D. Patterson, and a nephew, B. N. Patterson, both of Winterset, Iowa, arrived during the weekend to take care of funeral arrangements.
