GEORGE J. CARTER PASSES AWAY

George Carter, who has been sick for several weeks, passed away at his home in St. Charles, Monday night about 10 o’clock. The funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Church of Christ, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L. R. Gans, and he was laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.

Mr. Carter was 69 years old and has lived in this town for many years, where by his quiet and kindly disposition, he made many friends, who with the bereaved wife and daughters and other relatives mourn his departure. George is the third of the Carter brothers who have passed away in about six weeks – W. A. passing away March 9th and B. F. on March 24th. The sympathy of the community goes out to the relatives who are called on to bear so much sorrow in so short a space of time.
