J. S. KNIGHT OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Served Near Half Century As Route Salesman in That Area

(St. Charles--Special)

J. S. Knight, one of the most widely known residents of St. Charles for many years, died at his home here Monday of a heart ailment. He had been in failing health for several years, and had been confined to his bed for the last six weeks. He was 74 years old.

Mr. Knight had been a route salesman for more than 44 years for the S. F. Baker company of Keokuk. He called upon the farm homes in Madison and Warren counties.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Georgia Knight; two daughters, Mrs. Arminta Brandt of Victor and Mrs. Betty Coutts of St. Charles; two grandchildren; and two brothers, C. D. Knight of Nevada and John Knight of Des Moines.

Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. this Wednesday from the St. Charles Methodist church.
