CHARLES L. COLE SERVICES TUESDAY

Winterset Resident Died on Sunday at 80 Years of Age

Charles L. Cole, a resident of Madison and Union counties for most of his life, died at his home here Sunday after being stricken by a cerebral hemorrhage the preceding day. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Cole was born at Woodward Nov. 2, 1869, the son of Crawford A. and America Cole. As a young man he was married to Viola Scrivner of St. Charles. Most of their married life was spent in this county. They were the parents of three children, one of whom died in infancy. The wife and mother died in 1940.

He was married in 1943 at San Diego, Calif., to Georgianna Grimley. Since then they had made their home in Winterset.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Faye Jones of Des Moines; a son, Roy Cole of San Diego; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; a brother, Edward A. Cole of Mishawaka, Ind.; and four sisters, Mrs. Celia Hock of Ft. Dodge, Mrs. Mattie Lathrum of Des Moines, Mrs. Stella Agans of Murray, and Mrs. Luther Goodrich of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Cole residence on West Summit street, in charge of the Rev. W. R. Howard of the Winterset Adventist church, and the Rev. Glenn Parrott of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made with Masonic rites at the Blair Chapel cemetery.
