William E. Beaman

William E. Beaman, eldest son of Samuel and Emily Beaman was born in Indiana, August 13, 1859, and came to Adair county when three years old, settling on the farm that has been his home ever since. On December 24, 1882, he was married to Miss Ellen Nelson. To this union were born nine children: Elzie and Harvie of Stuart, Oral of Earlham, Mrs. Goldie Estell, Mrs. Hazel Beedle, Mrs. Grace Estell, Mrs. Merle Crawford of Winterset and Frank at home.

His wife, one daughter, Mrs. Olive Wambold and three grandchildren, Alfred, Verlene and Frances have preceded him in death. He leaves his eight children, twenty-eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three brothers, John of Wichita, Kansas, Jim of Aberdeen, Washington, Elmer of Adair county and one sister, Mrs. Olive Miller of Stuart. After a lingering illness he departed this life Monday, December 11, 1933 at the age of 74 years, three months and 28 days. He and his wife united with the Methodist church at Webster several years ago.

Rev. A. R. Weed, pastor of the West Star and Worthington churches conducted his funeral services at the Methodist church in Winterset, at two o'clock Wednesday, December 13th and burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
