DEATH OF WM. CUMMINS

William Cummins, a resident of Madison county for about 60 years died at his home Wednesday morning after a lingering illness of six years. He was 86 years old.

Mr. Cummins was born in Illinois, November 7, 1846 and came to Madison county with his parents when a young man. He engaged in farming in the county until 1917, when he moved to Winterset, where he made his home until the time of his death.

The surviving relatives of the deceased are three nephews, E. W. Cummins, Charles Cummins, and Frank Cummins, all of Madison county, and two nieces, Mrs. Ettie Riley and Mrs. Kate Steele of Kansas City, Missouri.

His wife preceded him in death by less than a year, passing away last September.

William Cummins Services Friday

Services for William Cummins, 86, who died Wednesday, May 17, were held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the home on west Eighth avenue conducted by the Rev. W. C. Porter, pastor of the United Presbyterian church. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery. Pallbearers were W. W. Greer, Nels Bertholf, Fred Brownell, Herman Kirby, William Hircock and Charles Beeler.

Mr. Cummins was born November 7, 1846 in Illinois and came to Madison county when a young man to engage in farming. The family moved to Winterset in 1917, Mrs. Cummins dying in September 1932.

Those who survive are three nephews and four nieces E. W., Charles and Frank Cummins, Mrs. Dean Glenn, and Etta Riley and Mrs. Kate Steele, both of Kansas City, Missouri.
