Had Operated Jewelry Store in Winterset for 12 Years
Harry C. Milligan, former Winterset jeweler, died Monday, June 19 at the Elmcrest nursing home in Des Moines. He was 93 years of age.
Mr. Milligan operated a jewelry store in Winterset for 12 years coming here in 1920. He was a native of Ottumwa, where he was born May 25, 1857. He was married in 1880 to Eva Hoddy of Ottumwa. She died here in 1930, and is buried in the Winterset cemetery.
After leaving Winterset, Mr. Milligan retired from active business and had been living with his children. For the last five years he had been a patient at the Elmcrest Nursing home.
He is survived by four sons, Bert Milligan of Chicago, and Merle, Don and Carl Milligan of Des Moines. He also leaves five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from the Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
