Flora Harris, a former Winterset resident, died Monday, November 13th at her home at 3615 Sixth avenue in Des Moines. Miss Harris who was 73 years of age had been a professor of Latin and Greek at Des Moines University for 37 years prior to its closing. She was born in Nevinville, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harris. For years, the Harris family owned the farm at the northwest corner of Winterset, which is now rented by C. L. Newton.
Most of Miss Harris' life was spent in Des Moines. Funeral services were held at Dunn's Funeral home, Wednesday, November 15th and burial was in the Winterset cemetery at 2 o'clock.
