Mrs. Michael Gavin

Mrs. Michael Gavin, over 80 years of age, died Thursday, October 26 at the home of her son John in Des Moines. Mrs. Gavin had been in poor health for a number of years.

She was born at Hartford, Connecticut, December 29, 1852, Mary Jane Kilduff, and came to this state with her parents while a young girl. They lived for a time in Des Moines and later moved to a farm near Commerce. In 1876 they moved to a farm three miles north of Patterson. She was married to Michael Gavin in 1884 and they were the parents of four children, all of whom survive her. They are Martin of Bevington, John, Frank, and Mrs. Walter Kelly of Des Moines. Her husband died in 1929. She is survived by a brother and sister, T. C. Kilduff of St. Mary's and Mrs. Louis Wiedman of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church in Lee township with the Rev. M. J. Dugan officiating, and burial made in the St. Patrick's cemetery. Pall bearers were her sons, Martin, John and Frank; her nephews, Frank Wiedman and Thomas Wiedman and her brother-in-law, Walter Kelly.
