Willard Loehr

Willard Loehr, was the fourth child of Noble W. and Hope Anna Loehr, and was born July 5th, 1870 in Lincoln township. He passed away at his home in Monroe township Sunday evening at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 21 days.

On Christmas Eve, 1901 he was married to Miss Etta Reed who with his two brothers, three sisters and their families and a host of friends are left to mourn his departure. The brothers are Willis of Hillsdale, Wyoming and Dan of Lorimor. The sisters are Mrs. Mary Abbott of Coeur De'Alene, Idaho, Mrs. Effie Reinmuth of Sacramento, California and Mrs. Lulu Richmond of Laciede, Missouri. One sister, Nora Burns preceded him in death.

The deceased was born and lived his entire life in Madison county. In March 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Loehr moved to the farm that has since been their home. Mr. Loehr became a member of the Methodist church a number of years ago and since that time has lived in that faith.

His happy and unselfish disposition endeared him to the people among whom he lived. Early last spring he was stricken with a serious illness and an operation followed early in July. Since that time he has been confined to his home.

Funeral services were held at the Macksburg Methodist church at 2 o'clock and were conducted by the Rev. E. H. Sands.
