On October 2, 1872, he was united in marriage to Miss Barbara Ellen Combs. To this union were born eleven children. On November 27, 1933 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. L. Kitchell, he took his departure leaving his seven children, Robert L., Luther H., Mrs. H. L. Kitchell, Wallace W., Mrs. Vern Bennett, M. Earl, and Mrs. H. S. Clark.

His wife and four children preceded him, his wife March 28, 1938, Tom, February 20, 1920, Mrs. Will Leach, December 14, 1930 and two in infancy. Besides his children he leaves 31 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. McDonald has been making his home with his children since his wife's death.

Seventy of his eighty-five years, six months and four days were spent in this county. He will be missed by all of those who have known him as "Uncle William" McDonald for so long.

Funeral services were held at the home in Douglas township Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial was in the McDonald cemetery.
