Page 1Death of Mrs. Dean Moore
Mrs. Dean Moore died last Thursday, December 26th, at her home on West Filmore street, after an illness of a few days. Mrs. Moore gave birth to a baby daughter on Saturday, December 21st, and shortly afterwards contracted pneumonia. It was found later that she also had scarlet fever.
Mrs. Moore was only twenty-three years of age. She was formerly Miss Irene Jones, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones. She was born in St. Charles, April 2, 1906, and she made her home in that community until she was married to Mr. Moore on June 4, 1924. Since that time they have made their home in Winterset. The baby, which survives the mother, was the first child born to the couple. They had named her Shirley Ann.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband and their infant daughter, of Winterset, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones, a brother, John, and a sister, Marie Clark, all of St. Charles.
The family and the house were fumigated for scarlet fever last Thursday night, and a private funeral was held Friday afternoon, December 27th, at the St. Charles cemetery.
The Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, preached a short sermon in the cemetery, Friday afternoon, and burial was made there.
