Curtis Earl Clopton, 46, of Winterset died Jan. 25, 2007 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Union Chapel Cemetery, South Township, Madison County.

Curtis Clopton was born July 9, 1960 in Madison County to Robert Earl and Gloria Jean (Douglas) Clopton. A lifetime resident of Winterset, Curtis worked as a laborer for several local people. He also was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Gloria, of Winterset; a brother, Craig Clopton of Winterset; and two sisters, Bonnie Thomas of Des Moines and Patty Williams of Winterset.
