VICK SEERLEY DIED THURSDAY

Lived 76 Years on Family Farm in Madison Township

Vick Seerley, member of a pioneer family in Madison township, died Thursday, March 23, at his home in Winterset. He was 79 years of age. He had been in ill health for many years, and was an invalid the final two months of his life.

Mr. Seerley was born Jan. 29, 1871, in Madison township, a son of William and Mary Seerley. His entire life was spent in that community. He and his two sisters lived on the same farm there until April of 1947, when they moved into Winterset.

He was a member of the Worthington Methodist church.

Only near surviving relatives are two sisters, Flora and Grace Seerley.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Worthington cemetery.
