Thursday, May 4, 1933DEATH OF DAVID I. NEAL
David Ira Neal, life long resident of Madison county, died Sunday morning, April 30th, about 11:30 o'clock. He died at the home of his nephew, Frank Neal, with whom he has resided the past fourteen years. Mr. Neal was 72 years of age. He had been ill since last fall with an internal ailment.
Mr. Neal was the son of R. L. and Martha Ann Neal. He was born in this county October 4, 1860. He followed farming as an occupation, spending 42 years of his life in Scott township. He was from a family of eight children, four brothers and four sisters. Two brothers outlive him: R. L. Neal of Winterset and William Neal of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. He leaves also five nephews and three nieces.
The funeral was held at Union Chapel at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, May 3rd. It was in charge of Rev. W. C. Porter, pastor of the United Presbyterian church at Winterset. The music was furnished by a quartette from the church at Patterson and burial was in the Union Chapel cemetery.
