E. V. NICHOLS OF INDIANOLA DIES

Member of Pioneer Family at Worthington Stricken by Heart Attack

E. V. Nichols, member of a pioneer family in the Worthington community of Madison county, died suddenly Tuesday at his home in Indianola. He was 80 years of age. Death resulted from a heart attack.

Mr. Nichols had lived in Indianola since 1918, but prior to that his entire life was spent in the Worthington neighborhood of this county. He was born there Dec. 10, 1869, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Nichols, who were pioneer settlers there. His active years were spent in farming. He was a life-long member of the Methodist church.

He was married June 24, 1895, to Gertrude McIntyre, who survives him. He also leaves four children, Mrs. N. D. McCombs of Des Moines, George Nichols of Winterset, Howard B. Nichols of Des Moines, and Dr. Ray N. Nichols of Earlville, Ill., in addition to eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Walter Vance of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. this Thursday from the Overton Funeral home in Indianola. Burial will be made at 3:15 p.m. at the Worthington cemetery.
