OLIVE RUTH WILSON

Olive Ruth DeVault joined her three older brothers, O. J., Albert and Clarence and older sister Martha, in the Charles and Minerva DeVault home in Penn township, Madison Co., Iowa on June 26, 1895 and slept away from her earthly cares on December 4, 1964 in the Winterset Memorial hospital at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 8 days.

Olive grew to adulthood in this community, attending school at Penn No. 8 and later graduating from the Earlham Academy with the class of 1913.

On December 20, 1916, she married Frank J. Wilson, her Academy classmate. They were the parents of three children, Martha Koboldt and Helen Ludwick of Earlham and Floyd C. of Indianola. Most of their years together were spent on farms in the Earlham community.

At an early age, Olive joined the Penn Center Methodist church. Soon after her marriage she transferred her membership to the Earlham Friends church where she remained a loyal worker as long as her health permitted.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves a son-in-law, Wayne Koboldt, a daughter-in-law, Margaret Wilson, her grandchildren, Betty Easley and her husband Roger, Bruce and Nancy Koboldt and Bonnie Wetrich and her husband James and one great-grandson, Michael Wetrich. She also leaves a step-daughter, Dixie Bowers and husband Dale, a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence DeVault of Pasadena, California, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Hazel DeVault of Earlham, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held in the Earlham Friends church on Monday, December 7 with the pastor, L. Willard Reynolds officiating. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery. Roy E. Evans was the funeral director.
