Pauline Evans Godby was born June 10, 1907, in Adams County, Iowa to Frank Elwood Evans and Eva Roberts Evans. She was the youngest in the family of nine brothers and sisters.

March 27, 1937 she was married at Red Oak, Iowa to Graham (Jack) Godby and a daughter, Gretchen, was later born to them. Pauline taught school here in Earlham for several years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She passed to God's Realm April 16, 1975. Surviving her are her husband, Graham, and the daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Lee Isenberg, also a grandson, Jeffrey Scott Isenberg.

Services were held at Earlham Presbyterian Church April 19 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Donald Taylor and Rev. Glenn Moore officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Nadine Shepherd, organist and Mr. Marvin Kelley, soloist. She was laid to rest in the Earlham Cemetery.
