Earlham, IowaEvangeline Riser Gilbert, the youngest of ten children born to John and Maria Riser, was born in Clermont, Iowa, April 10, 1889. The family moved to Earlham, Iowa when she was eleven years old.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church and enjoyed working in various women's clubs as long as her health permitted.
She was united in marriage to Frank Gilbert December 25, 1907. They moved to the farm southwest of Earlham where they enjoyed a full life together until August 1967 when she required constant nursing care. At that time she entered Maple Lin Manor and remained there until a few months ago when she required a higher level of care. She was moved to the Americana Health Care Center where she passed away December 3, 1975.
She was blessed with a keen mind and loved to study and read throughout her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Albert and his wife Rose, two grandchildren, Larry and his wife Helen of Hanover Park, Illinois, and Rita at home, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
