MORTUARY - Lyle Russell Kirkland

Lyle Russell, oldest son of Wm. and Lula Kirkland, was born near Macksburg, July 1, 1911. His boyhood was spent in the Macksburg community and he attended the Macksburg school. After his school life he worked at home. He was an ideal home boy, loving and kind, and always busy and so anxious to help, always the first to see things to do and to do them.

He was a good boy, and during a revival two years ago, he expressed his faith in Christ, and during his last illness, from the things he did, those nearest to him feel sure that his faith in Christ was renewed and that he died trusting his Savior. He was ill only a few days and passed away on October 22, at the age of 19 years, 3 months and 21 days.

He leaves beside his parents, one sister, Edna, Marie, and 3 brothers, Cecil, Eugene and Wendell, all in the home. He leaves also his grandparents and many other relatives besides his many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Macksburg, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, by the Rev. A. P. Keast. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
