MORTUARY

Henry Rowe

Henry Rowe, son of Andrew and Elizabeth Rowe, was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, on April 25th, 1849, and passed away at his home in Macksburg, Iowa, December 15th, 1930, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 20 days.

He moved with his parents to Davis county, Iowa, in 1855. He was married to Alma Johns on the 12th of November 1872. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Southworth, and Mrs. Pearl Wilson, both of Macksburg. He and his wife moved to a farm just south of Macksburg in 1874, where they resided for forty years. In 1915 they moved to Macksburg, where he has since made his home. His companion preceded him in death on July 4th, 1928.

Although he was an intense sufferer at times during his last illness of almost a year, he was always patient and thoughtful of those about him. That he was a good and a kind husband, as well as a good neighbor, is the tribute paid him by those who knew him best.

He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his two daughters, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Bradley of Carson, Iowa, a number of nephews and nieces, and a host of friends. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Lorimor, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Macksburg, Wednesday, December 17th, at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Methodist church at Winterset, and burial was made in the Macksburg cemetery.
