BELLE ROGERS OF WINTERSET DIES

Death Occurred Sunday at Nursing Home in Winterset

Mrs. Belle Rogers, 72, of Winterset, died Sunday Jan. 14 at a nursing home here.

Mrs. Rogers had lived in Madison county for 63 years. She was born July 23, 1889 at LaPorte, Ind., a daughter of Elmer and Estella Ellison Hatfield. She was married at Mitchell, S. Dak., on Aug. 2, 1910 to Charles P. Rogers. They were parents of four sons and four daughters.

She was a member of the First Baptist church at Winterset.

The seven children surviving are: Elmer Rogers of Oakdale, Clair Rogers of Orient, Mrs. Kenneth Jeffs of Pond, Mo., Mrs. James Davis of Cedar Hill, Mo., Leslie Rogers of Aloha, Ore., Mrs. Herman Miller, Mrs. Richard Rusk of Aurora, Colo. One son, John Riley Rogers, preceded her in death.

She also leaves 20 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; six brothers, Earl Hatfield of Indianola, Glen Hatfield of St. Charles, Roy Hatfield of Creston, Harold Hatfield of Aurora, Colo., Frank Hatfield of Macksburg and Lloyd Hatfield of Canoga Park, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Colling of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Shirm Williams of Stuart.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Robert A. Damon. Burial was to be made in Pleasant View cemetery.
