Mary Jo Jacobson Friend, youngest daughter of Mrs. Emma Jacobson and the late Henry Jacobson, was born at Earlham, Iowa, December 23, 1937. She passed away at Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, California on November 2, 1974, after a short illness.

She was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ and graduated from Earlham High School in 1955.

Mary Jo worked at Central National Bank in Des Moines for 15 years moving to California in 1971. She worked for Boys Warehouse in Ventura, California.

She is survived by one daughter Susan Charlene Friend of Garden Grove, California. Two brothers, Larry Jacobson of Garden Grove, California, Raymond Jacobson of Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Kathy Wills of Des Moines, one half brother, Roy (Bud) Jacobson of Lakewood, California and her mother, Mrs. Emma Jacobson of Des Moines, and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at Peek Family Colonial Funeral Home of Westminister, California by the Rev. William D. Powell on November 5, and then her body was flown back to Evans-McKee Funeral Home in Earlham where services were held Friday, November 8.

Interment was at North Branch Cemetery.
