CARRIE MCATEE

Carrie McAtee was born near Greenview, Illinois, October 6, 1888 and slipped away to her heavenly home early on Wednesday morning, February 1, 1967 at the Horton nursing home near Winterset. She had had pneumonia for a short time.

Most of her life has been spent in Earlham, the family moving to Iowa from Illinois in 1911 after her father had passed away in 1905.

Her mother, Rose McAtee, preceded her in death on November 16, 1966. She was the eldest of three children and is survived by her brother, Bill McAtee and his wife Mildred of Stuart; by her sister, Clara Kennedy of California; by seven nieces and nephews; by other relatives and many friends.

Carrie has been for many years a member of the Earlham Church of Christ and found great pleasure in Christian work and attended Sunday School and church regularly as long as her health permitted. She has been a true Christian example for all who have had opportunity to know her.

Services were held at Evans Funeral Home on Friday, February 3. Rev. Ward Young was in charge of services. Burial was in Earlham cemetery.
