Jennie C. Cummins

Jennie College Cummins was born March 3, 1860 in Illinois and died at her home in Madison county, Iowa, April 8, 1925 at the age of 65 years 1 month and 10 days. When a child she moved from Illinois to Iowa with her parents.

In 1878 she married Frank M. Cummins. To this union was born six children, two daughters, having died, Ada Fredrickson in 1920 and Lela Cummins in 1923; leaving the surviving children; Maude Kerns, J.M., Earl, and Eric Cummins to mourn their mother's death. She leaves one sister, Mrs. D. K. Jensen and a brother, Will College, both of DeSoto; and twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild to mourn her death.

Mrs. Cummins joined the Methodist church when a girl, which she always attended when her health permitted. Her husband's early death left her the duty of rearing her children by herself, which duty she undertook cheerfully. For the past year she has been confined to her home and has suffered greatly, but with patience. A good, home-longing mother to all her children. Her many kindnesses will not be forgotten.
