MRS. GERTRUDE VAN VECHTEN DIES MARCH 5

Mrs. Gertrude Van Vechten, formerly of Winterset, died at her home in Denver, Colo., March 5th after a short illness. Mrs. Van Vechten was the widow of Bert L. Van Vechten, who died at LaJara, Colo., about 15 years ago, where he for many years owned and operated a hadrware store. Mrs. Van Vechten was the daughter of Leroy Wilson of Winterset, where she spent her girlhood and early married life.

Her husband, Bert L. Van Vechten will be remembered as associated with Benge Bros. Hardware store. About the turn of the century the Van Vechtens moved to LaJara, Colo., where they resided until after the death of Mr. Van Vechten when Mrs. Van Vechten moved to Denver. The interment was made at the LaJara cemetery.
