MRS. FRED ALEXANDER DIED HERE THURSDAY

Death Occurs at Memorial Hospital at Age of 71 Years

Mrs. Fred Alexander, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Thursday, Dec. 10 at Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 71 years of age. Mrs. Alexander had been in failing health since August, but only seriously ill the past week.

Mrs. Alexander was the former Harriett Elsie McDonald, daughter of Cyrus and Mary McDonald. She was born in Jefferson township July 16, 1882. Her marriage to Fred Alexander occurred Oct. 19, 1902. They spent all of their married life on the same farm in Union township.

She was a member of the United Brethren church.

Surviving are her husband; five children, Raymond Alexander of Winterset, Mrs. Ethel Diser of Clemons, Mrs. Ruby Smith of Indianola, Robert Alexander of Stuart, and Max Alexander at home; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Reed of Summerfield, Kansas and Mrs. Belle Tyer of Winterset; and two brothers, Joe McDonald of Artesia, Colo., and Harry McDonald of Pitzer.

Funeral services were held Sunday, from the Richard Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. A. Beureman. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
