FARLOW DEATH FOUND ACCIDENT

Funeral services for Ralph E. Farlow, former resident whose death occurred September 20 at Fulton, Missouri, were held last Friday from the Anderson home of funerals. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Larson of Denison, Iowa. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.

Details concerning Mr. Farlow's death were made available here this week from the official report of the coroners jury following the inquest which was held last Wednesday.

He was found dead shortly before noon September 20 on a side road a few miles from the town of Fulton. His body was found beside his car. Death had been caused by the discharge of his 12-gauge shotgun, which was found on the floorboards of his car. The blast from the gun had entered the upper part of his forehead, causing instant death.

In its official report made last Wednesday, the Fulton County coroner's jury found the death to be accidental. Evidence introduced showed the gun could not have been discharged by Farlow. The doors of the car were closed, and the jurors reasoned that he had gotten out of the automobile, closed the door, and then reached for the gun through the window, causing it to discharge accidently.

Mr. Farlow's death occurred on his sixty-first birthday. He had been a resident of the Winterset community most of his life, but had moved from here to Denison about five years ago. In August he moved from Denison to Fulton, Missouri where he had been operating a cafe and tourist court on Highway 40.
