FUNERAL MONDAY FOR MRS. SIMMONS

Life-Long County Resident Died July 7 at Age of 77

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel E. Simmons, life-long resident of Madison county, were held Monday afternoon from the First Methodist church in Winterset.

Mrs. Simmons died last Friday, July 7, at her home north of Winterset. She was 77 years of age.

A daughter of Samuel B. and Victoria Hoisington Johnson, she was born in Union township on Nov. 23, 1889. She taught school in Madison county, and was a member of the Methodist church.

On July 14, 1909 she was married to Clark A. Simmons. She was a member of the Womens Society of Christian Service, the Sixty-Plus club, V.F.W. and American Legion auxiliaries.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sister, one brother and two children.
