UrbandaleDorothy Mae Breeding, 89, of Illahee Hills Retirement Residence, Urbandale, died of a heart ailment Saturday at Polk City Health Care Center. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Breeding was born in St. Charles and had lived in Altoona before moving to Urbandale five years ago. She was a retired teacher in the Southeast Polk schools and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Westkirk Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Larry of Ankeny and Carl of Des Moines; a daughter, Carol Brown of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Mary Johnson of Lansing, Mich., and Lela Hirsch of Ankeny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carman.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Door of Faith Mission or her church.
