Nathan Judson Norris, son of Alfred and Mary J. Norris was born in Madison county, Iowa, February 29, 1868, and passed on to his eternal home on the morning of December 18, 1930, being 62 years, 9 months, and 19 days of age.
He grew to manhood on the farm of his parents and in 1906 went to South Dakota, living there and enduring the hardships of pioneer life for six years, returning to Iowa in 1912, and residing in this state until 1919, when with his sister, Ella went to Minnesota to make their home, living there until July 4, 1929, when his sister passed on and he came to make his home with another sister, Mrs. Frank Gentry of Norwalk, Warren county, where he became an invalid in December 13, 1929, when stricken with paralysis which rendered him both helpless and speechless.
Jud as he was known to his many friends, possessed a kind, jolly disposition which won to himself many friends in all communities where he has resided.
He leaves besides the sister with whom he lived, two other sisters, Mrs. Kate Griffith and Mrs. Addie Moore, and one brother, Frank Norris, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Tidrick’s funeral home by Rev. A. P. Keast Saturday afternoon, at one o’clock, with burial in the Bennett cemetery in Madison township.
