PAUL SHEARER, 59, DIES AT KANSAS CITY

Paul Shearer, a former resident of Winterset, died Monday, Aug. 26, at his home in Kansas City, Kan., following a heart attack. He was 59 years of age.

Mr. Shearer was a native of Collins, Ia. but lived in Winterset from 1930 to 1935, when he was employed as a linotype operator on the Madisonian.

Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie M. Johnson of Scranton; and three children, Mrs. Jacquelin Burger, Mrs. Constance Beagle and James Shearer. He also leaves four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Serbein of Collins and Mrs. Myrtle Biesmicker of Lakeworth, Fla. Mr. Shearer was a brother-in-law of Embree Jackson of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 11 a.m. in Kansas City, Kan., with burial in Highland Park cemetery there.
