WILLARD E. SHANNON OF BEVINGTON DIES

Funeral Services Scheduled This Thursday at Patterson

Willard E. Shannon, a life-long resident of the Bevington community in Madison and Warren counties, died this Monday, Jan. 28, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 64 years of age.

Mr. Shannon was born in Des Moines, Jan. 29, 1898, a son of William H. and Lorena Strable Shannon. His life was spent in farming.

He was active in the Patterson Methodist Church and in Farm Bureau.

Mr. Shannon was married at St. Charles on Feb. 19, 1920 to Ivy E. Conard, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Doris M. Scott of Prole; a son, Rex J. Shannon of Des Moines; and three granddaughters, Peggy Ann and Linda Jo Shannon and Diane Lynn Scott.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Patterson Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Howard Cho. Burial will be made in the St. Charles cemetery.
