Wednesday, May 15, 1957MRS. JULIA REED Dies at 87 Years
Mrs. Julia Reed, member of a prominent family in the Truro community, died Thursday, May 9, 1957, at a Winterset nursing home, where she had spent the last several years. She was 87 years of age.
Mrs. Reed was a native of Guernsey county, Illinois, where she was born February 20, 1869, a daughter of Seldon and Julia (Burger) Banker. She came to the Truro community in early life. As a young woman she was married to Frank Reed. His death occurred several years ago.
She was long an active member of the Truro Methodist church.
Nearest surviving relatives are two sons, Fred Reed of Truro, and Wendell Reed of Mill Valley, Calif.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Kale Funeral home at Truro conducted by the Rev. Clarence Moore of Blockton, assisted by the Rev. Dale Lockart of Truro. Burial was made in the Young cemetery at Truro.
