Death came late Sunday afternoon, May 24, 1953 to Mrs. Lillian C. Fillmore at her home, after a five months illness. She had been a resident of Waitsburg, Washington where she lived with her husband on Second Street for eight years, having moved there from Walla Walla.
Mrs. Filmore endeared herself to all with whom she worked being a talented, congenial person. She was a member of Kensington Club of the Presbyterian church, the Progressive and Home Economics Clubs, and the Pythian Sisters and Rebekah Lodges of Waitsburg.
She was born November 2, 1892 in the Bear Creek neighborhood near Earlham. She was a Birthright member of the Friends church at Bear Creek, and spent her early life in or near Earlham, graduating from the Earlham high school. She attended Wm. Penn College for a time, and spent several years prior to her going to Washington in 1920, working as a bookkeeper for the American Glue Company of Des Moines.
On March 21, 1921 Lillian Cook was married to William E. Fillmore in Prosser, Washington.
Surviving her are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Wilma Kay) Kronemeyer of Pullman, Washington, a stepson, Omar Fillmore of Dunsmuir, California, her father, Levi Elza Cook of Earlham, one brother, Elkanah S. of Kiona, Washington, a nephew Elza Lee Cook also of Kiona, Washington, and five grandchildren, Billy, David and Sandra Kronemeyer and Patricia and Jeannie Cook.
Services were conducted by Rev. Harold Blockwell, pastor of the Presbyterian church of which she was a member, and the committal services at Pullman, Washington.
