DEATH OF MRS. LEE

This community was called on suddenly last Wednesday to mourn the loss of one of Winterset’s best ladies, Mrs. Abbie Lee. Mrs. Lee has been visiting her folks in this city for several months past—her home being permanently in Kansas—during which time she has not been well, but not considered dangerous. In fact the day before her death she was up and walking around the house. The doctor was in to see her on the morning of her death, but left without reporting any serious change.

She died within a very few hours from his leaving. Her husband, John R. Lee, not receiving any tidings from his wife for some time, became uneasy and started for Winterset, arriving here the day before her death.

Mrs. Lee was raised in Winterset; it was here she spent her childhood days, ‘twas here she bloomed into womanhood and here she was married some four years ago. Abbie, the name she was most familiarly known by, was loved and respected by all, her gentle and loving disposition won the hearts of every one. The death of this loved one had the effect of bringing tears to the eyes of many a loving heart, comprising a circle of acquaintances far outside of the family circle.

The funeral took place on Friday and was largely attended. The remains were interred to the cemetery at this place where the ---- of death ----all that is mortal and that which is immortal has gone to a better land.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
