Vava Opal Sandy died Monday, Aug. 10 in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she had resided for the last 25 years.
She was born in Winterset and graduated from Winterset high school.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charlotta Paull of Winterset and Mrs. Zola Lowden of Greenfield; and a brother, Russell Sandy of Boone.
Burial was in Mexico.
