Member Well-Known Family in This Community Was 73 Years Old
Mrs. Maud Huston of Winterset died Monday, Feb. 11, at the Restorium in West Des Moines, at the age of 73 years.
Mrs. Huston had been a resident of Madison county since childhood. She was born in Keokuk on April 24, 1878. She was the former Maud Wilson, daughter of Clark and Ida Wilson. In early childhood she came to Madison county with her parents.
As a young woman she taught school in this community. She was married here Feb. 6, 1902, to Walter Huston. They were the parents of one daughter, who died in infancy. Mr. Huston died in 1931.
Mrs. Huston was an active worker in the Oak Grove church in former years. Recently her membership had been at the Winterset Methodist church.
She is survived by her mother; four sisters and six brothers: Roy Wilson of Belle Fouche, S. Dak., Mrs. Ethel Kingery of Kimball, S. Dak., Vern Wilson and Mrs. Grace Fuson of Nampa, Ida., Carl and Rollie Wilson of Ames, and Ray and Elson Wilson and Mrs. Jessie Brady and Mrs. Lorean Tidrick, all of Winterset. Her mother, Mrs. Clark Wilson, who is 93 years of age resides in Bell Fouch, S. Dakota.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made at Orillia.
