Winterset, IowaALICE CURFMAN DIES AT 91 YEARS
Had Lived Her Recent Years With Daughter, Mrs. Joe Dwyer
Mrs. Alice Curfman, who had made her home in recent years with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Dwyer of Winterset, died at the Peterson Nursing home here Wednesday, Jan. 30. She was 91 years of age, and had been an invalid for several years.
Mrs. Curfman was a native of Illinois, where she was born near Farmington on June 20, 1860. She was the former Alice Graham, daughter of John D. and Lizzie Graham. When she was 3 years old she came to Iowa with her parents, in a covered wagon. Most of her life was spent in Warren county.
She was married Nov. 2, 1882, to James H. Curfman. They were the parents of three children. Her husband died in 1921.
Mrs. Curfman is survived by her three children, Mrs. Emma Coryl of Mt. Ayr, Mrs. Ida Dwyer of Winterset and Floyd Curfman of Ottawa, Kan. She also leaves four granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made at Liberty Center.
