William Henry Cushing
William Henry Cushing, a resident of Madison county for 29 years, passed away at his home, west of St. Charles, on Sunday, October 13th. The deceased had been in poor health for a number of months, being bedfast most of the summer, suffering from paralysis, but had been up and about his home for some time. Sunday, he suddenly became very ill and died in a short time. “Uncle Billie”, as he was familiarly known among his friends and neighbors, will be sadly missed.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and five children; Mrs. Mary Childers, of Mason City; Mrs. Elizabeth Trumbauer, of St. Charles; Pearle, of Grinnell; Mark, of St. Charles, and Ralph, of Truro, and three grandchildren. Ray Trumbauer has made his home with him since his father’s death.
Funeral services were held at the St. Charles M. E. church, Tuesday, October 15th, at 2:30 o’clock and interment was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
