Page 5ARTHUR HOOTS OF WINTERSET DIES
Arthur Hoots, a resident of Madison county for 50 years, died at Memorial hospital in Winterset on Tuesday, Jan. 8. He was 79 years of age.
Mr. Hoots was born at Cook Mills, Ill., on May 31, 1872, a son of Francis and Mary Ellen Hoots. For half a century, he had lived in or near Winterset, where he was employed as a farm hand.
He was never married. His nearest surviving relatives are a brother, Albie Hoots of Decatur, Ill., and a half-brother, Jess Hixon, who lives in Minnesota.
Funeral service will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
