Edna Salsbury, Indianola

Edna Mary Salsbury, 91, died April 6, 2005, at Good Samaritan Center in Indianola.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, at the Patterson United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Montpelier Cemetery, Crawford Township, Madison County.

Edna Salsbury was born June 17, 1913 to James and Rose Ellen (Vestal) Stover of Exline. On July 26, 1932, she married Willis Lee (Dick) Salsbury in Bessemer, Mich. Edna assisted her husband at the Phillip's 66 station in Patterson for over 30 years. She also worked in the candy department for Brandies and later Younkers department store in West Des Moines. An area resident for most of her life, she was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, John and Joe Stover; a sister, Gladys Hyde; and two great grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Willis Lee Salsbury of Winterset, Jack Salsbury of Norwalk and James Salsbury of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, MaryLee Woods of Des Moines; and 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren an four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Patterson United Methodist Church.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
