DICK SALSBURY DIED SUNDAY

Patterson Business Man Was Life-Time Resident in That Community

W. L. (Dick) Salsbury, well-known Patterson business man died Sunday, Jan. 21 at Memorial hospital in Winterset, after a brief illness. He was 61 years of age.

Mr. Salsbury had operated an automobile service station in Patterson for 36 years. He had been awarded "recognition for good service" by the Phillips Oil company on three occasions, at the end of 25 years, 30 years and 35 years of service.

Mr. Salsbury was a life-long resident of the Patterson community. He was born there Aug. 10, 1906, a son of Jesse E. and Rhoda Cook Salsbury. He was married on July 26, 1932 at Bessmer, Mich. to Edna M. Stover, who survives.

He was a member of the First Methodist church at Patterson.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Willis L. Salsbury, Jr. of St. Charles, Jack Salsbury of Norwalk and Jim Salsbury of Des Moines; a daughter, Mary Lee Salsbury, at home; nine grandchildren; and a brother, H. H. Salsbury of Patterson.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Patterson Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. James N. Louk. Burial was made in Mt. Pelier cemetery at Patterson.
