Lucille Nellie Rucker, 79, of Truro died Feb. 10, 2004 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Saturday Feb. 14 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Lucille Rucker was born June 17, 1924, to Otho and Lena (Bane) Salyers of Kahoka, Mo. She received her education in the Kahoka School District. In August 1955 she married Carl E. Rucker Sr. in Bethany, Mo. Lucille resided in Des Moines before moving southwest of Truro in 1961. A homemaker, she also had worked in the grocery store in Truro. She was a member of the Jolly Fu Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Eugene Salyers.
She is survived by five daughters, Christina Corkrean and Rose Stephenson both of Winterset, Lucretia Odonnell of Des Moines, Lucinda Murphy of Truro and Mary Sue Cochran of Columbia, Mo.; two sons, Carl E. Rucker Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Burt Rucker of Winterset; two sisters, Selma Anderson and Lerene Anderson, both of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
