SERVICES SUNDAY FOR RENA SHANNON

St. Charles--Funeral services were held Sunday, December 23, at the St. Charles Methodist church for Mrs. Rena Strable Shannon, a long time resident of that community.

Mrs. Shannon died at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge on Friday, December 21. She was 75 years of age.

The youngest daughter of Sylvester and Lucinda Strable, Mrs. Shannon was born near St. Charles on Dec. 6, 1876. On March 13, 1894 she married William H. Shannon.

Mr. and Mrs. Shannon resided for a short time in Des Moines before moving to a farm in Warren county near St. Charles, where they lived until Mr. Shannon's death in December, 1942.

At that time Mrs. Shannon moved to St. Charles where she lived until her death.

She is survived by two sons, Lee of Fort Dodge and Willard of Bevington; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Smull of St. Charles.

Officiating at the services Sunday was the Rev. Eldon Haworth. Burial was at the St. Charles cemetery.
