Mrs. Sayre spent all but 10 years of her life as a resident of Madison county. She was the former Bessie Mabel Buchanan, and was born in Jackson township on Aug. 5, 1882. She was married to Lorin Sayre on May 10, 1905. Most of their married life was spent at St. Charles, but for the past 20 years she had lived in Winterset.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Eldon Parker of Winterset; two grandsons; four sisters, Mrs. Clyde Mills and Mrs. Beulah Anderson of St. Charles, and Mrs. Martha Dawson and Mrs. Hazel Summer of Des Moines; and two brothers, C. R. Buchanan of Truro, and C. M. Buchanan of Des Moines.
