Funeral services were conducted this Wednesday afternoon from the Macksburg Methodist church for Mrs. Alberta Rowe.
A life-long resident of Madison county, Mrs. Rowe died Aug. 23 at a St. Charles nursing home. She was 87 years of age.
The daughter of David and Byanca Abrahams Bonham, she was born at Macksburg on Nov. 28, 1865. In the year 1899, she was married to Martin Rowe. Mr. Rowe died 36 years ago.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bonham was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alexander and Fred Bonham; and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Maus and Ella Bonham.
Surviving are a step-son, A. H. Rowe of Macksburg; a step-daughter, Dell Glenn of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Carrie Bonham of Nevada, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the funeral Wednesday afternoon was the Rev. C. M. Rowe and the Rev. Hedrick. Burial was in the Moon cemetery.

MACKSBURG — Mrs. Bertie Roe, 87, a lifelong resident of the Macksburg community, died at a nursing home in St. Charles, Ia., Sunday evening. She had been a patient at the nursing home for the past 21 months.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church here at 2 p. m. Wednesday. Rev. W. L. Headrick of Lorimor and Rev. C M. Rowe of Macksburg will officiate. Burial will be in the Moon cemetery, near Macksburg. Her body will be at the Watts funeral home at Lorimor until time for the services.
Mrs. Rowe was born in a farm near Macksburg, Nov. 28, 1865. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. He husband, Martin Rowe, preceded her in death 35 years ago.
Four cousins are her only surviving relatives. They are Francis and Ernest Bonham of Macksburg, Mrs. Verlie Garrett of Macksburg and Will Abrams of Winterset.
